The Black Sand Elite is our tribute to the unique black sand beaches of Hawaii.

From Honokalani Beach at Waianapanopa State Park on Maui to Punaluu Beach on the Big Island of Hawaii, black sand beaches in Hawaii are formed when black lava from a volcanic eruption travels all the way out to the ocean. As the molten hot lava hits the water, it explodes into small micro-particles, sometimes forming a black sand beach overnight.

The uniqueness of these black sand beaches is characterized by coarse sand with properties similar to coral or quartz.
